Stunned squirrel revived after driver gives CPR


A driver stopped to give a squirrel CPR after fearing he had killed the critter with his car.

The man, named only as Chris, was spotted by two police officers in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota as he crouched down at the side of the road to offer the squirrel some help.

One of the officers, named only as Jeremy, captured the moment on a body worn camera, and the video has gone viral after being shared on the department’s Facebook page.

In the video, Chris tells officers he is worried he hit the animal with his car, as the police reassure him that the squirrel is probably “tumbled from the pressure of the car”.

The squirrel eventually springs back to life and jumps away, leaving the officers to joke to Chris he will be up for a life-saving award.

On Facebook, the video was shared more than 7,000 times, with several people saying it made them feel proud to live in Brooklyn Park.

One man, Carlos Felix, claimed Chris is his son, which prompted several replies telling him to be proud.
